SALVINIA
- print, photographic paper, 2002 -
The so called "tableaux vivants" restage an utopian universe.
Try to think of the fictitious farm, Salvinia, as a game I used to play with my own childhood, that ideal Paradise that everybody needs (some of us transform their childhood into this Paradise, once they inexorably quit it). More you play and more precisely you reconstruct it, more you destroy it by transforming it in an artificially place of pathetic feelings and gestures. More you long for it, more you disintegrate it. This is the paradox.
